2025-11-3A closed cooling tower, also known as an enclosed cooling tower or evaporative cooler, is a cooling device widely used in modern industry. Its distinctive two-stage cooling process, air cooling in the first stage and a combination of air cooling and spray in the second, delivers excellent cooling performance and energy efficiency.
The closed cooling tower works on the principle of spray evaporative cooling. Multiple heat exchange coils are installed inside the tower, and the circulating cooling medium flows through them without ever contacting outside air. Spray water collected in the basin at the bottom of the tower is pumped to the nozzles at the top and sprayed as a fine mist over the outer surface of the coils, while the cooling fan draws air through the tower so that evaporation of the spray water carries away heat from the medium circulating inside the coils.
The system mainly consists of a stainless steel casing, a copper cooler, a fan system, a spray system, a drift eliminator, a collection tank and a water pump. This design keeps the cooling medium circulating in a completely sealed environment, which prevents contamination by impurities and eliminates evaporation loss of the medium.

In addition, closed cooling towers offer a small footprint, low energy consumption and simple, reliable operation. They can be moved and positioned flexibly as required, which greatly improves convenience in use.
As national energy-saving and emission-reduction policies take effect and water resources grow increasingly scarce, closed cooling towers have been widely adopted in metallurgy, aviation, power generation, chemicals, machinery, petroleum, food, plastics, rubber and other industries. In air conditioning systems they also perform exceptionally well, significantly reducing operating costs and improving energy efficiency.
