Maintenance and usage instructions for closed cooling towers

1. Safety precautions that operators should pay attention to

(1) Adequate air intake space;

(2) Safety of mechanical transmission;

(3) Potential entry issues of obstacles around the cooling tower;

(4) A protective fence is required at the top of the cooling tower;

(5) Protective measures need to be installed around the cooling tower;

(6) Prevent maintenance personnel from being in potential danger;

2. Preparation for operation of closed cooling tower

(1) Ensure that the closed cooling tower is in place and securely connected.

(2) Ensure that all pipelines are connected and sealed properly.

(3) Ensure that the electrical wiring is correct, and that the fan and water pump directions are correct.

(4) Ensure that all valves used in the circulation pipeline are in the open state.

(5) Clean all debris in the closed cooling tower. Pay special attention to the positions of the water collection tank, air inlet window, and sprinkler.

(6) Add water to the collection tank.

3. Regular cleaning of cooling tower

The operators of steam type closed cooling towers must follow maintenance procedures to minimize bacterial contamination. During the operating season, inspect at least once a week. The cooling tower must be flushed before and after each operating season. Use high-pressure water guns to flush the intake louvers, water collectors, water collection tanks, coil surfaces, shell surfaces, etc. Regularly discharge the water collection tank. A closed cooling tower cools hot water by continuously evaporating a portion of the water. Although the evaporated water can be replenished by the water replenishment system, this part of the water evaporates in the form of pure water, and the concentration of soluble solids in the remaining water will increase. Without control, the concentration of pollutants will also increase. In order to ensure that the water quality meets the requirements for the use of closed cooling towers, operation and maintenance personnel must start processing from maintaining a relatively stable concentration ratio. The method of stabilizing the concentration ratio is usually achieved by discharging a certain amount of water as wastewater.
